PA Farms
Tracking Animal Premises throughout Pennsylvania
What Should I Do With The Mailing?
The critical part to this mailing is sending back both a completed data sheet as well as the large map depicting your farm location.

Why Am I Receiving This Mailing?
Your name and address is currently listed for statistical purposes as a farm. You may or may not think that you have a ‘farm.’ You may not sell any crop or products and strictly farm as a hobby. Many people have retired from farming, but still have, for example, 2 horses, and maybe a few acres of hay. Some may have five pygmy goats or a small flock of birds.
We still need your response!
This information is critical in order to contact you in response to an agricultural emergency. Having this information will allow us contact you immediately to take necessary precautions and actions. For example, if are within a 5 mile radius of a diseased crop or animal, notification can happen within minutes. Traditionally, without the use of computer mapping or “GIS”, this could take weeks. Please help us build an accurate and up-to-date database which will help protect Pennsylvania’s Agriculture.
What If I Have Animals Or Crops In More Than One Location?
It is vital that we know where animals and crops are physically located. Each location will be identified as a different ‘premise,’ one that could be closer to an suspect animal or crop and have greater risk in contracting a disease.
We need you to identify all other locations on the map or the back of the map, along with contact information if different than what is noted on the data sheet.
I Have a Question Not Listed Here. Who Can I Contact?
Please call Chihiro Mather at Penn State University by phone 1-877-722-4724 or by email at ckm10@psu.edu.
